Many lame have walk, blind eyes opened, dumb speak, the sick healed and many delivered from curses, incantations, spells, and many miracles have taken place.
The church is playing a major role in Trauma healing and HIV/AIDS sensitization.
PASTOR MESHACK K THORONKA - GENERAL OVERSEER
I was born to Mr. Alpha and Mrs. Aminata Thoronka on the 5th of January 1972 at Manjawor Village, Gbendembu Ngo’wahun Chiefdom, Bombali district in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.
I was raised up in a polygamous home through out my primary and secondary school. I was boarded at Gbendembu Town where I attendee my secondary schooling , a Wesleyan Mission dominated land.
I was born when my father got saved. His deliverance came when he was seriously sick and taken to the Masanga Leprosy Control hospital run by the Seventh Day Adventist. When he returned home, he contacted the Wesleyan Mission and became the first Lay Leader to start the Wesleyan Church in his whole section.
I grew up under the Wesleyan Mission till 1995. In Gbendembu Town, I enter the secondary school and became a member of the Baptist Church till 1990 when I finished my high schooling and returned home. Upon return, I became the Pastor-In-Charge for a year, at the Wesleyan Church started by my father, as there was no Pastor available.
In 1991 I had an angelic encounter in my vision in which I was instructed to go to Freetown, the Capital City.
In February 1994, I was visited by two (2) brothers from a Pentecostal Home cell fellowship. I was amazed at my visit to hear people prophesy and speaking in tongues for the first time in my life, and I joined the fellowship from then. In March 1994, I experienced my first Baptism of the Holy Spirit. In December 1994, I went up to my village and its surrounding with the same gospel, but this time in the Power of Holy Spirit. Demons came out of many people. Many got healed and souls saved. I was amaze to see things happened for the first time in my life. I became surer of what Jesus has done for the salvation of Mankind.
In November 1995, the Word of Faith Ministries was born out of the Home Cell and Development and became a ministry on his own by the late Rev. Bobson John Turay. In January 1996, he told me that God instructed him to take me as his assistance. Rev. Bobson John Turay went to be with Lord in June 1996. He left a total congregation of 70 members including children and adult, and an amount of USD 70 equivalent. The mantle of leadership falls on me since then up till now. Great expansion has taken place, churches has been planted, school as been raised and other development started.
I got married to Joyce in November 1999. We took some children in our home who were gravely affected by the war. Some have settle on their own but we still have ten (10) more that we are taking care of.
We are at times tempted to push them away because of the financial constraints and the aftermath of the war. These children now love the Lord Jesus Christ that we could not let them go. The battle is our current financial status.
IN THE MIDST OF FIRE
During the rebel invasion of Freetown, they occupied the entire east of Freetown. E was in their midst as they were burning and looting people’s properties and throwing people alive on fire. Several attempts were made by the fighters to amputate us and to burn us alive within the Church compound premises. Many other horrible things were experienced, but God kept us alive to testify of His goodness and Mercy to many.
We have now three biological children all boys: David, Favour and Joel.
